The NCAA
Northern Classic is back for its 3rd edition, taking place from November 28 to
30 at Place Bell in Laval.
Five NCAA men’s basketball teams (Fordham Rams, Colgate Raiders, Albany Great Danes, Suny Oneonta Red Dragons & Franklin Pierce Ravens) will battle over three days to crown the first-ever Northern Classic champion.
Montreal is ready to prove it’s a true basketball city. This tournament not only showcases the future stars of professional basketball, but also highlights the city’s passion and commitment to the sport in all its forms.

Fordham Rams (Fordham University – Bronx, NY)
· Competing in NCAA Division I’s Atlantic 10 Conference
· NCAA Tournament participations: 1953, 1954, 1971 (Sweet Sixteen), 1992
· Notable Performance: On January 29, 2025, Fordham shot an impressive 52% overall and hit 12 of 26 three-pointers to dominate La Salle, 88–72
Colgate Raiders (Colgate University – Hamilton, NY)
· A strong Patriot League program in NCAA Division I
· Multiple regular-season and tournament titles, including dominance from 2019–2024
· NCAA Tournament participations: 1995, 1996, 2019, 2021–2024
Albany Great Danes (University at Albany, SUNY – Albany, NY)
· Compete in Division I’s America East Conference
· NCAA Tournament participations: 2006, 2007, 2013, 2014, and 2015
SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons (SUNY Oneonta – Oneonta, NY)
· Competing at the NCAA Division III level, since SUNY Oneonta
· Recent game performance includes a matchup against Albany, where UAlbany won 89–69
Franklin Pierce Ravens (Franklin Pierce University – Rindge, NH)
